Ipsy October 2013: The Art of Beauty Review

I am completely bias, Ipsy is my favorite beauty bag subscription and it’s clear to see why. The products are always something that I benefit from having in my collection but the brands are affordable! The themes are playful and I LOVE having a bag come with my new items. I can use them to stay organized or share them with my kiddo too!

The October is theme is “The Art of Beauty”.

One of the unique things about this month’s bag is that it can be customized. Ipsy has requested that recepients share their bag designs so it has been interesting to following the different creations from other members of the Ipsy community.

Nourish Organic Deeply Nourishing Body Lotion // $9.99

I haven’t stopped using this lotion since I received it. Perfect timing too as the cool weather sets in and begins to dry out skin. The size is perfect for the pocketbook and I would actually prefer to restock in this size.

Zoya Nail Polish in Giovanna // $8

What a gorgeous green! It’s reminiscent of the color of the year and perfectly festive for the coming holidays.

Buxom Full-On Lip Polish in Dolly // $19

As soon as I tried this lip gloss my lips began to tingle. (I never read the label, I just dive in with curiosity!) The formula is said to create the look of fuller, more voluptuous lips and also contains Vitamins A & E help keep them soft, smooth and protected. The color is great for fall and winter too!

La Fresh Eco Beauty Oil Free Face Cleanser Wipes // $9.99 for 30 or $23.99 for 75

Makeup wipes can be costly so it’s nice to try a brand before purchasing. I like that this has all natural ingredients including pineapple and cucumber. I was suprised to learn that there is marshmallow though, seriously what value does it add? I’m very curious now!

Sexy Hair Blow Dry Gel // $16.95

I don’t use a lot of product in my hair  but this gel claims to help retain moisture which is important. It would be nice to know if there are any heat-protectant ingredients as well although I haven’t seen that listed in any of the product descriptions I have found. I will give it a try but it’s probably time to let Birchbox know that I don’t use hair gels.

That’s it for this month’s bag!

For those of you who are unfamiliar – the Ipsy glam bag is offered for $10 a month, you will receive 4-5 beauty products (sometimes full-sized!) and they are well worth it! In all honesty, this is the one beauty box subscription that I would recommend most. If you are interested you can sign up here or read my past reviews for more insights.
